RSM Ebner Stolz advises Oakley Capital on the acquisition of a majority stake in Webcentral in a carve-out from its parent company

Bonn, 6 No­vem­ber 2023 - The as­surance and con­sul­ting firm RSM Eb­ner Stolz has ad­vi­sed Oak­ley Ca­pi­tal (Oak­ley) on the buyer side of the ac­qui­si­tion of a ma­jo­rity stake, alongs­ide co-in­ves­tors, in Web­cen­tral DEH (Web­cen­tral) th­rough a carve-out from its Aus­tra­lian Se­cu­ri­ties Ex­change (ASX) lis­ted pa­rent com­pany Web­cen­tral Li­mited.

Oak­ley Ca­pi­tal, a lea­ding pan-Eu­ro­pean, mid-mar­ket pri­vate equity in­ves­tor was star­ted by Pe­ter Du­bens in 2002. The com­pany backs out­stan­ding mid-mar­ket busi­nes­ses across four core sec­tors of tech­no­logy, con­su­mer, edu­ca­tion and busi­ness ser­vices hel­ping them suc­ceed in a chan­ging world. For more than 20 years, Oak­ley Ca­pi­tal has ba­cked over 40 busi­nes­ses in 11 coun­tries and com­ple­ted more than 150 bolt-on ac­qui­si­ti­ons.

The Oak­ley team is uni­quely po­si­tio­ned to sup­port the next stage of Web­cen­tral’s growth, enab­ling the com­pany to ex­pand its ca­pa­bi­li­ties, to fur­ther im­prove its ser­vices to cli­ents, and to pur­sue new growth op­por­tu­nities. Oak­ley and its part­ners will ap­ply their ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in scaling SaaS and hos­ting com­pa­nies to help Web­cen­tral un­lock op­por­tu­nities in the frag­men­ted, in­ter­na­tio­nal hos­ting mar­ket that con­ti­nues to grow, as glo­bal de­mand for cloud in­fra­struc­ture so­lu­ti­ons ac­ce­le­ra­tes.

Web­cen­tral is a lea­ding Aus­tra­lian do­main, hos­ting and e-mail pro­vi­der, which was foun­ded in 1996 of­fe­ring an ex­ten­sive port­fo­lio of di­gi­tal ser­vices to over 330,000 small and me­dium busi­nes­ses as well as 2,500 en­ter­pri­ses across Aus­tra­lia and New Ze­aland. The com­pany is gro­wing pro­fi­ta­bly with high cash con­ver­sion ra­tes as more SMEs seek to di­gi­tize their busi­ness mo­dels.
