Ebner Stolz Posts Record Revenues and Repositions Itself Internationally

  • Re­ve­nues up 15.2% in fis­cal year 2022

Stutt­gart, March 14, 2023 - Eb­ner Stolz has ex­pe­ri­en­ced si­gni­fi­cant growth. The au­diting and con­sul­ting firm, which spe­cia­li­zes in me­dium-si­zed busi­nes­ses, achie­ved a re­cord in the firm’s history in fis­cal year 2022 with re­ve­nues of EUR 343.5 mil­lion (+15.2%). All four busi­ness areas - au­dit, tax con­sul­ting, le­gal con­sul­ting and ma­nage­ment con­sul­ting - pos­ted si­gni­fi­cant po­si­tive growth. Growth in le­gal con­sul­ting and tax con­sul­ting was par­ti­cu­larly strong, be­ne­fiting from heavy de­mand in the areas of tran­sac­tions and suc­ces­sion so­lu­ti­ons.

Ebner Stolz Sets Course for International Growth

On Oc­to­ber 1, 2023, the firm will join RSM, the world’s lea­ding au­dit and con­sul­ting net­work for me­dium-si­zed busi­nes­ses. With re­ve­nues of more than USD 8 bil­lion, the RSM net­work is one of the top six au­dit and con­sul­ting net­works in the world. More than 57,000 em­ployees are part of the net­work, spread across some 830 of­fices in 120 coun­tries.

To­ge­ther with RSM, we will sup­port our cli­ents even bet­ter in the fu­ture, such as with uni­form glo­bal stan­dards. The RSM net­work fol­lows the prin­ci­ple of being ac­tive in each coun­try with a mem­ber firm un­der the RSM brand. For this re­ason, Eb­ner Stolz will ope­rate un­der the name ‘RSM Eb­ner Stolz’ upon joi­ning. The ow­nership struc­ture, part­nership struc­ture and fre­elance cul­ture of the firm will re­main un­chan­ged.

Transactions, Regulatory Changes and Megatrends Drive Growth in All Business Areas

In fis­cal year 2022, au­dit will contri­bute the lar­gest share of re­ve­nue to the suc­cess of the firm, with EUR 137.8 mil­lion. De­mand was par­ti­cu­larly brisk for au­dit-re­la­ted con­sul­ting ser­vices, in­ter­nal au­diting, tran­sac­tion con­sul­ting and sus­tai­na­bi­lity re­por­ting.

With an in­crease in re­ve­nues of around EUR 17.2 mil­lion com­pa­red to the pre­vious year, tax con­sul­ting re­por­ted the lar­gest growth in ab­so­lute terms. There was par­ti­cu­larly strong de­mand for ad­vice on cor­po­rate tran­sac­tions and re­struc­tu­ring as well as fo­re­see­able re­gu­latory chan­ges.

More than 10% of to­tal re­ve­nues were at­tri­bu­ta­ble to ma­nage­ment con­sul­ting. Im­port­ant fo­cal points here were sup­port for re­struc­tu­ring and re­or­ga­niza­tion in cri­ti­cal si­tua­ti­ons, as well as the im­ple­men­ta­tion of trans­for­ma­tion pro­grams, com­plex M&A deals, stra­te­gic al­li­an­ces and di­gi­tal tech­no­logy in­itia­ti­ves in fi­nance and ac­coun­ting.

The most dy­na­mic growth in the past fis­cal year was re­por­ted by Le­gal Con­sul­ting (+27.5%). In par­ti­cu­lar, the sup­port of tran­sac­tions in the health­care in­dus­try and the areas of la­bor and em­ploy­ment law, li­ti­ga­tion, re­or­ga­niza­ti­ons and le­gal com­pli­ance can be men­tio­ned as dri­vers of growth. In ad­di­tion, con­sul­ting in the areas of an­ti­trust law and pro­duct safety and lia­bi­lity was ex­pan­ded.
