Ebner Stolz accompanies the entry of Investec into Capitalmind

  • Capitalmind advises medium-sized companies on sales, acquisitions and financing
  • Strategic investment of Investec increases international reach and strengthens sectoral M&A expertise
  • Ebner Stolz advises seller on the preparation of a financial fact book

Stuttgart, June 1, 2021 - The auditing and consulting firm Ebner Stolz has advised Capitalmind, one of the largest independent corporate finance and M&A consultancies in Europe, on the seller side as part of the preparation of a Financial Fact Book.

Capitalmind is a leading European financial services firm, owned by its partners, providing independent advisory services to family businesses as well as entrepreneurs, private equity investors and large corporates on the sale, purchase and financing of mid-market companies. Capitalmind's advisory teams consist of more than 75 professionals across Europe with offices in the Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the Nordic countries.

The British-South African banking group Investec, with headquarters in London and Johannesburg, employs around 8,700 people worldwide. The financial group is listed on the stock exchanges in London (United Kingdom) and Johannesburg (South Africa). Investec provides a wide range of capital, advisory and treasury risk management solutions to growth-oriented listed companies and family-owned businesses as well as private equity funds across all major sectors. The mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate finance business has large advisory teams at their own locations in Europe (UK, Ireland), Asia (China) and Africa.

Investec's strategic minority stake in Capitalmind allows to further deepen the integration of both companies. Both service providers are characterized by geographical complementarity: Investec provides Capitalmind with connectivity to the UK, Ireland, Asia (China) and Africa, while Capitalmind provides the banking group with access to the financial markets of Western Europe, mainly Germany, France, Benelux, Scandinavia and Switzerland. The US market is covered by Capitalmind and Investec through an exclusive strategic partnership with Regions Securities LLC, which has been in place since 2020.

Following the transaction, the goal for the respective teams is to cooperate even more closely and to share knowledge, expertise and client coverage.

Ebner Stolz advised Capitalmind on the transaction in the context of the preparation of a Financial Fact book.

Team Ebner Stolz: Dr. Christoph Eppinger (Project-leading Partner, Financial Fact Book), Florian Seizer (Project Management, Financial Fact Book), Seema Rao and Tim Streckenbach (both Financial Fact Book).
